Sgt. Nicholas Sowinski, 25, was killed Oct. 11, 2006, when his Stryker vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Baghdad.
Sowinski, a Tempe, Ariz., native, was a cavalry scout assigned to the 4th Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Wainwright.
