ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Officers were patrolling the streets around the state on New Year's Eve, looking for drunk drivers. Police say drivers may be taking their advice to think before they drink.

Anchorage police say they made 10 arrests for driving under the influence after midnight Thursday. Police say that number is pretty low for New Year's Eve, saying it's about average for any weekend.

Statewide, Alaska State Trooper dispatches show troopers made 8 DUI arrests since 10 p.m. Thursday night.
