JUNEAU, Alaska -- A Coast Guard cutter halted the voyages of three commercial fishing boats near Craig this week because of safety violations.
The Coast Guard says one vessel had an expired life raft and two lacked a primary lifesaving device. Two of the vessels also had expired documentation.
The cutter Naushon escorted the vessels back to Craig. Two of the three noncompliant boats are homeported there and the third is from Klawock.
