ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Top chefs in Anchorage put their game face on Saturday, all hoping to win the title of best overall soup.

The Anchorage Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant and Retailers Association, or CHARR, held Souper Bowl II at Chilkoot Charlie's. Chefs brought in their tastiest recipes and left it up to the people of Anchorage to decide their favorite.

All of the benefits will go to the Anchorage Hospitality Foundation, a non-profit that helps chronic inebriates in the community. Last year, the Muse restaurant took the trophy with a Hungarian mushroom soup.

"Wonderful soups," said Silvia Villamiges of Anchorage CHARR. "The chefs, they have taken their time to go out and get ingredients and write their recipes to get this soup event going."

This is the event's second year. Last year's Souper Bowl raised about $3,500.
