ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Jeremy Teela was unable to duplicate his success from earlier in the Winter Olympics, finishing next to last in Sunday's 15-kilometer biathlon mass start.

The Anchorage biathlete finished 29th out of 30 competitors, picking up four shooting penalties along the way. He only had one clean round in four.

Teammate Tim Burke was as high as third place at one of the splits in the middle of the race, but then incurred three penalties in one round and tumbled to the back of the pack. He recovered to finish 18th.

Evgeny Ustyugov won the gold with a time of 35 minutes, 35.7 seconds and no shooting penalties. France's Martin Fourcade took silver and Pavol Hurajt of Slovakia got the bronze.

Teela was three minutes behind the winning time. Burke was 1:09 back.

NBC is scheduled to broadcast the race between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday on Channel 2. There is no guarantee Teela will get any air time.
