ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A helicopter crash in Utah Wednesday left a Juneau Coast Guardsman in critical condition.
Cmdr. Patrick Shaw of Juneau was on board the helicopter which crashed just outside Salt Lake City.
The helicopter was heading from Vancouver, British Columbia to its home base in North Carolina after providing security for the Olympic Games.
Hospital officials say Shaw suffered internal injuries.
There were five Coast Guardsmen on the helicopter at the time; two others were injured, one critically.
The Coast Guard started its investigation of the crash Thursday.
