Barrow stabbing sends 2 teenagers to hospital

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Police say a teenager in Barrow stabbed his 16-year-old girlfriend and himself Friday afternoon.

The North Slope Borough Police Department says the suspect, also 16, was found hiding inside his home after the stabbing at about 5:30 p.m.

Both he and his girlfriend were taken to a Barrow hospital and later brought to Anchorage's Alaska Native Medical Center for treatment.

The teen has been charged with attempted murder and assault.
