JUNEAU, Alaska -- Gov. Sean Parnell is making quite a statement at the state Capitol this week, urging Alaskans to "Choose Respect."

Workers unfurled a trio of banners with the message on the Capitol steps Tuesday morning. Parnell is trying to raise awareness of what he calls a statewide epidemic of domestic violence and sexual assault.

On Wednesday at noon he'll lead a march through downtown Juneau, with other marches planned in 18 communities across the state.
