ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Standing Together Against Rape hosted the "Walk a Mile in her Shoes" event on Tuesday.

At 5th Avenue Mall, men from all walks of life attempted to walk around in women's shoes to bring attention to sexual assault.

STAR's director, Keeley Olson, says the walk is a fun way to open dialogue about a serious subject, especially during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

"We gather every year in April and try to get as much word out that it is OK to speak out about it; that it is important to get help; that rape is never a victim's fault; that there are resources for people," Olson said.

Today was the third year STAR has hosted the walk.
