ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The sixth annual Crop for Cancer fundraiser was held Saturday at the ConocoPhillips Building.
Scrapbookers started at 10 a.m. Saturday and will keep crafting until 10 p.m. The event also included games and a silent auction, raising money for the American Cancer Society.
"Scrapbookers are always needing to make time to be able to scrapbook because they usually have children and jobs and other things going on that prevent them from being able to do it," said organizer Krystal Kompkoff. "So they like to come to a location where they get to set aside time and raise money for a good cause."
By the time Saturday's event ends, it will have cumulatively raised more than $100,000 in its six-year run.
