JUNEAU, Alaska -- About 20 young people, two dogs and mother pushing a stroller marched though Juneau in a driving rain, whooping and chanting, "Yes we cannabis!"
Their path Tuesday took them past the state Capitol and city hall.
Michael Chilton said he organized the rally to recognize April 20, or 4/20, insider slang for cannabis consumption.
Joy Johnson was pushing the stroller with 2-year-old Isabelle. When she's old enough, the mother says she'd prefer she smoked weed instead of cigarettes or drank.
A youth put Juneau on the map for marijuana in 2002. During the Olympic torch relay, a high school student held a sign reading "Bong Hits 4 Jesus." His school suspension led to a Supreme Court case on free speech.
