WASILLA, Alaska -- Alaska State Troopers say two people have been killed in a head-on collision on the Parks Highway in Wasilla.
Troopers say a Chevrolet Pacifica, driven by 54-year-old Yolanda Haggard of Chugiak, crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Tahoe just after 9 a.m. Monday. The driver of the Tahoe was identified as 42-year-old Angela Johnson of Wasilla.
Officials say Haggard died at the scene, and Johnson was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles.
The accident occurred at Mile 40.3 of the Parks Highway, at the highway's intersection with Herman Street.
