ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Anchorage police are investigating serious injuries to a young child.
Police responded to a medic-assist call Friday for a baby breathing but not responsive at the 500 block of North Bliss Street. Police say the infant was left in the care of a babysitter during the day, and when the child's mother returned home something appeared to be wrong.
Police say she called 911 for help. Medics took the 6-month-old boy to a local hospital, where he remains on life support.
The babysitter was questioned and released by Anchorage police. Detectives are still investigating.
