ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska State Troopers say a woman was killed in a car crash Saturday on the Sterling Highway.
According to troopers, four vehicles were involved in the crash near the highway's Milepost 163. A GMC truck driven by 46-year-old Alfred Jones of Kenai was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line into the southbound lane.
Troopers say numerous vehicles tried to avoid a collision, but a Subaru Forester driven by 29-year-old Daniel Fairchild of Anchorage hit the truck on its passenger side.
Kathleen Benz, 25, was in the passenger seat of the Forester. She was one of four people taken to the hospital where she later died.
