ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The makers of the film "Everybody Loves Whales" have started auditions in Alaska.
Auditions were held over the weekend in Anchorage for the role of an Inupiaq boy and an Alaska Native elder whaling captain. Other auditions in Barrow and Fairbanks seek to cast Russian-speaking sailors, a helicopter pilot and an army of extras.
The film, starring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski, tells the story of the 1988 attempt to rescue three whales trapped in ice near Barrow.
