ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The signup period for the Yukon Quest sled dog race begins Saturday, August 7.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the purse for the 1,000 mile race has been set at $150,000, the same as last year. The purse can increase if the race receives additional sponsorship.
There was no word on what percentage of that money will be awarded to the champion.
