Researchers suggest using longer computer passwords

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Researchers are now suggesting it's time to enter into the 12-character era of online security.

According to a report by the Georgia Institute of Technology, researchers used clusters of graphics cards to crack eight-character passwords in less than two hours. 

They say 12-character passwords should now be the standard for protection against hackers.
