ANCHORAGE, Alaska — West High School’s flag football team, 1 and 2 this season, was hanging tough Thursday afternoon in a match against undefeated Dimond.
West was down against an initial 6-0 Dimond lead in the second quarter, which Keiahnna Engel doubled with a short touchdown.
In retaliation West mounted a drive on its ensuing possession, with Shiccia Harris-Grant moving into the endzone just before halftime, closing the gap and leaving the Eagles down 12-6.
But in the third quarter, Dimond’s Kelsey Hall kept things to herself for a 4-yard touchdown that put the game out of reach and sealed a 19-6 Dimond win over West.
