West steamrolls East with relentless offense

September 11, 2010|by Charlie Sokaitis

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — East drew the short straw in Week 6 of the Cook Inlet Conference football season, going toe-to-toe with undefeated West Anchorage.

In the first quarter, West’s Conor Feckley managed a quick flick over to Ricardo Davis, who took the ball 33 yards as the Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead.

West’s ground action during the first quarter saw Terry Holtman cut up the middle for a 22-yard gain. Three plays later, Feckley would redeem the drive for points, doubling West’s lead to 14-0.

Later in the game, the Eagles took to the air and Feckley let the ball fly,  where it was caught by J'Vonte Buster and taken in for a third West touchdown.

West went on to remain undefeated, chalking up a 35-3 win over East.
