ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Teacher contract negotiations with the Mat-Su School District are still in limbo, but the Teachers Union spent the entire day in contract arbitration with the school district.
Mat-Su teachers have been working without a contract since June.
According to the district, it has not reached an agreement with the Teachers Union because the district faces a structural deficit where its revenues are consistently less than it's expenses.
However, both union and district officials agree they want contract negotiations settled as soon as possible.
