September 16, 2010|by John Carpenter

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska Aces just keep getting younger. The team announced Thursday that it has signed two more rookies, defenseman Alex Dzielski and forward Ethan Cox. The signings bring the Aces preseason roster to fifteen players, nine of which are rookies.

Dzielski comes to Alaska after playing the last three seasons in the OHL. Last season he played for the Oshawa Generals, scoring 3 goals and 17 points while racking up 116 penalty minutes in 67 games. Dzielski will add size to the Aces blue line, he stands 6'2" and tips the scales at 221 pounds.

Cox spent the last four seasons playing college hockey at Colgate University. During his four years with the Raiders Cox socred 17 goals and 41 points. Cox's durability was a draw for the Aces-- he never missed a game over the last three seasons.

The Aces preseason "Purple with Purpose" games are set for October 5 and 6 against the Stockton Thunder at the Sullivan Arena. Tickets for those games, as well as tickes foe regular season games will be on sale Saturday at the Aces Sidewalk Sale. That event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Aces office.
