ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Anchorage Skijor Club hit the trail before the snow Sunday to kick off its 2010 season.
During the Run Rover'r Run race, owners and dogs trekked 2.5 miles around Little Campbell Lake. The race is the club's annual season-opening event, and sunny weather in Kincaid Park provided a good backdrop.
“We had a pretty good turnout today, gorgeous weather -- started out in the fog and now bright sun now,” said race coordinator Becky Voris. “This is like the 10th year Run Rover Run has been put on.”
The club's next race will be held in January, in Chugiak.
