Woman dies after domestic shooting

October 01, 2010|By Channel 2 News staff

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Anchorage woman shot in a domestic dispute Tuesday night has died.

Police were called to Telstar Circle when two grown children reported hearing multiple gunshots following an argument between their parents. Police found 40-year-old Jocelyn Luch in the bathroom bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds to her arm, shoulder and torso. Her husband, Robert was found outside the residence and brought to APD headquarters for questioning.

Robert Luch had medical problems during the interview and lost consciousness. He was transported to the hospital where he remains.

“It’s absolutely essential to report these kind of things -- I've talked to officers who work with domestic-violence victims and it tends to escalate, so breaking the cycle of violence is essential,” said APD spokesperson Anita Shell.

Police charged Robert Luch with first- and second-degree murder Friday.
