First round of PFD checks to arrive Thursday

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The first round of Permanent Fund Dividend checks should arrive in Alaskans’ bank accounts and mailboxes Thursday.

This year's PFD will be $1,281.00, slightly less than it was last year. Gov. Sean Parnell announced the payout amount in Juneau last month.

More than 640,000 people will receive their checks.
