Aces prep for opening night

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska Aces open their regular season Friday night. They’ll host the Utah Grizzlies Friday and Saturday at the Sullivan Arena.

Over the weekend, the Aces added defenseman Russ Sinkewich to their roster.

Sinkewich comes to Alaska from the Johnstown Chiefs to complete an earlier trade that sent the Chiefs the rights to Nick Tuzzolino.

Sinkewich is beginning his second full season as a pro. Last year, in 70 games with the Chiefs, he scored two goals and 15 points, while racking up 97 penalty minutes.
