ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A month ago, the University of Alaska Anchorage dealt Western Washington University its only loss in GNAC volleyball play -- so visiting Bellingham Thursday night might have been akin to walking into a hornets’ nest.
WWU pummeled UAA 25-13, 25-11, 25-10, inflicting the worst loss of the season on the Seawolves.
UAA entered play with Division II’s best blocking stats -- but those too were destroyed by the Vikings, who connected on 41 percent of their attacks and made only two hitting errors.
Despite Jackie Matthisen’s six kills, the Seawolves dropped to 7 and 4 in the GNAC, 12 and 7 overall.
