ANCHORAGE, Alaska — On Friday night, it took the Alaska Aces an extra frame to defeat the Idaho Steelheads, but the aces picked up the win. Saturday’s rematch saw more drama as the Aces trailed 1-0 in the first period, until Brian Swanson scored a power-play goal to tie the game.
Chris Langkow scored in the second period to make it 2-1 Aces, although Idaho would tie it again – forcing a second overtime showdown.
Once more the Aces showed their true grit, as Jerad Stewart sank a puck to end the extra frame with a 3-2 Aces win, despite protest from Idaho.
