Young optimistic about a 20th term

November 01, 2010|By Channel 2 News staff

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Don Young cast his absentee ballot Monday in Anchorage. The 19-term Congressman had to send off his ballot because he couldn't make it home to Fort Yukon before the election.

The 77-year-old Republican is seeking his twentieth term against Democrat Harry Crawford.

Young says he is confident Alaska voters will re-elect him to the House of Representatives.

“I was supposed to lose two years ago and I won overwhelmingly and this time I hope to win again just do what I have to do and look to the people," said Young.

Crawford plans to cast his vote tomorrow.
