ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska State Fair’s Farm Family of the Year has lost its matriarch. The Pyrah family says Katie Pyrah died in her sleep Oct. 26th while on a trip to Disneyland.
The Pyrahs was honored this year for their long-standing commitment to Valley farming.
A service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Church in Palmer.
Katie Pyrah is survived by her husband Ted, five children and 20 grandchildren. She was 73 years old.
