ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Each year, the first big snowfall of the year brings a horde of skiers to Anchorage’s REI store seeking the same thing: a wax job to jumpstart the season. If you ski often, it makes sense to invest in waxing gear yourself, says REI’s Marcella Dent. The Anchorage native and former East Anchorage High School and APU skier showed us how to get the job done, all on your own. One perk of taking matters into your own hands? “You don’t have to wait,” she says.
