Ontario Reigns on Aces' parade

November 13, 2010|by Kevin Wells

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — For the second time in a week, Scott Howes scored for the Aces to snap a scoreless tie against the Ontario Reign -- but this time, it wasn't enough to give Alaska a victory.

The Reign's Michael Pelech scored the equalizer 15 seconds after Howes' third-period strike, evening the score 1-1. The game went to overtime, the fourth Aces home game out of five this season to go past regulation.

That's where Jeff Corey buried the game-winner for the Reign, 39 seconds into the extra frame. Alaska drops to 7-2-1 on the season and hosts Ontario Saturday and Sunday evening as well.
