Bemidji beats back UAA to split weekend

November 13, 2010|by Charlie Sokaitis

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The University of Alaska Anchorage hockey team, fresh off its first conference win of the year Friday night in a come-from-behind visiting victory at Bemidji State, took a shot at a repeat Saturday evening.

This time, however, the Seawolves weren’t the hunter but the hunted as the Beavers’ Matt Read sounded the horn just 17 seconds into the first period. A Jamie MacQueen score later in the period left Bemidji with a 2-0 lead.

The Beavers added two more in the third period to make the final score 4-0 as UAA split with Bemidji on the weekend.
