ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Another Great Alaska Shootout tradition was carried on Wednesday afternoon at the Hotel Captain Cook: the Shootout Luncheon, which frequently serves as a platform for Shootout coaches to try out their
stand-up act.
Weber State head coach Randy Rahe used his podium time to pretend he's worried about his team's first-round matchup with the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, exploring some alternate scheduling possibilities for game time.
“The people are what make this a better tournament than the Maui Classic, and you guys are absolutely tremendous,” Rahe said. “I want to thank Dave and Sharon Young; they are captains, they've done a terrific job. Dave has offered to take me fishing -- and at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow night, I want to take you up on that.”
