November 25, 2010|by Channel 2 News staff

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — People in the Southeast Alaska community of Gustavus have a new way to get in and out of town, after the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry Aurora arrived on its first sailing Tuesday.

Gustavus has a new dock which allows for the regular ferry service. Winter sailings will be monthly, while summer sailings will be twice a week.

The town was previously the largest roadless community in Southeast Alaska not served by the Marine Highway System.
