Mixed six, 1A/2A finals set

The Point Hope High School volleyball team kept its dreams of a three-peat alive by defeating Glacier View, 25-11, 25-22, 25-19, in Friday's semifinals of the ASAA Mixed Six tournament. 

The Harpooners, who have won five state crowns overall, have yet to drop a game in the tournament.

Point Hope will face Aniak in Saturday's championship match at Dimond High School. 

The Halfbreeds advanced by surviving Alak in five games, 25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 25-19, 15-11.

In the 1A/2A tournament, Port Lions moved into the title match with a four-game victory over Kenny Lake, 25-19, 13-25, 25-12, 25-21. 

The Lions will be up against first-time finalist New Stuyahok. 

The Eagles swept Cook Inlet Academy in the other semifinal, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.

Championship action begins with the Mixed Six final at 4:30, followed by the 1A / 2A title match at 6:30.
