ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Eight teams are vying for the title of the 31st Cougar Tip-off. Bartlett and South faced off Thursday in a matchup of Cook Inlet Conference schools.
The Wolverines came storming out of the gate, starting with a 12-9 lead, but Bartlett sliced into the deficit.
Damon Sherman-Newsome led a comeback rally with 20 points, giving Bartlett a 63-54 victory.
Defending 2A state champion Point Hope took on Anchorage's only 2A school, Lumen Christi.
Zach Lane and Adam Sage, two multi-sport standouts, carried the Harpooners to a 20-0 lead. The two combined for 52 points on the night for a 75-58 win.
In the late session, the host Cougars got by Thunder Mountain, 73-36.
Service will play Seward in the semis -- the Seahawks defeated east, 56-47.
