Man missing from Nome

December 29, 2010|By Channel 2 News staff

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Alaska State Troopers are looking for a man missing near Nome.

Troopers received a call Monday afternoon with the report of a man overdue from a walk from Woolley Lagoon to Nome.

Nome resident Hank Ireland told troopers his brother-in-law, John Koezuna, left a cabin in Woolley Lagoon on Dec. 20 and had not been seen since.

Nome volunteer search and rescue is sending out searchers to travel along the coast to look for him.

Anyone with information or contact with Koezuna is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers’ Nome post at 443-2835.
