ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police say the husband of a woman missing since April has been arrested on charges of fraud.

William "Mike" Dixiano, 60, was arrested on charges of forgery, theft and scheming to defraud.

Angela Dixiano was last seen in April, and while an obituary appeared in a Washington State newspaper in June, homicide detectives say there is no record of her death. According to a witness, police say, Angela had threatened to expose Dixiano's embezzlement.

According to police, William Dixiano was representing himself as a counselor to the beneficiary of a trust. Police say Dixiano was using the victim's inheritance and trust fund payouts to buy things for himself, including four Corvettes, a motorhome, a PT Cruiser and Buick LaSabre between 2007 and 2010.

Police say the discovery of the fraud came to light while investigating Angela Dixiano's disappearance. She had lived in Anchorage on Lakeridge Court with her husband. Thursday night APD’s major crime scene unit van was parked outside the Dixiano home on Lakeridge Court.
