APD investigating theft of more than $20,000 worth of copper

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — More than $20,000 worth of copper has been stolen from the site of the new State Crime Lab.

Anchorage police say someone got into the construction site between Jan. 7th and 11th and took several pieces of copper pipe.

There were more than 50 lengths of pipe stolen in total, valued at nearly $21,000.

Detectives from the theft detective unit are investigating this crime.
