ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Firefighters say quick response helped save an Anchorage office damaged in a fire Sunday evening.
Fire crews were called just after 8 p.m. to a fire burning at the Alaska Chiropractic Center on Lake Otis Parkway. The building is also used as a residential space.
AFD says crews arrived within three minutes, and were able to knock the fire down before any other part of the building was damaged.
“We had flames visible coming out of two rooms,” said AFD Capt. Jeff Hoke. “The fire was starting to burn into the attic -- we were able to do a quick stop and keep it from spreading into the attic, put it out.”
Fire officials say the fire started in the furnace room; its cause is under investigation.
