ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police say William "Mike" Dixiano has been charged with and indicted for the murder of his wife, Angela Dixiano, who was reported missing in early January and last seen in April of 2010.
Dixiano faces charges of first and second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and 14 counts of forgery.
Mike Dixiano was arrested on fraud charges during the investigation of his wife's disappearance. The indictment says Dixiano killed his wife in April 2010, when she threatened to expose his fraud, in which police say he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from another Anchorage man.
Dixiano's bail on the fraud charges was initially set at $100,000, and prosecutors say the state now hopes to increase that amount in light of the new charges.
