WASILLA, Alaska — An upcoming meeting will allow Mat-Su residents the chance to weigh in on the possibility of a Wasilla Bypass.
The Alaska Department of Transportation, the Mat-Su Borough and the city of Wasilla are working to develop an alternate route that would allow vehicles traveling though Wasilla to bypass the Parks Highway.
DOT is currently looking at possible routes and has identified a large area in the borough south of the Parks Highway where the bypass could be built. However, DOT says it needs more input from community members before moving forward with the plan.
The meeting is set for Thursday at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
