APD Arrests Man on Child Pornography Charges

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Anchorage man suspected of collecting and distributing videos of child sexual exploitation has turned himself in.

Donald R. Ponder, 45, presented himself at the Anchorage Jail overnight Tuesday. He has been charged with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

APD detectives searched Ponder's address on the 4300 block of Wisconsin Blvd. on March 3 and seized computer equipment at the residence which contained videos of child pornography.

Police were tipped to Ponder's activities after investigation led by the APD Cyber Crimes Unit.
