ANCHORAGE, Alaska — This weekend hundreds of local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be pounding the pavement around Southcentral scouting out donations for the Food Bank of Alaska.
The annual Scouting for Food Drive takes place Friday and Saturday, as Scouts go door-to-door collecting donations. Last year the drive raised 62,000 pounds of food.
Food can be dropped off at Fred Meyer and Carrs grocery stores in Anchorage, Eagle River and Girdwood, as well as the food bank's warehouse, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Money donations can be made online at the food bank's website.
