ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Wasilla man was ejected from his vehicle and killed in a rollover crash on the Parks Highway Tuesday evening, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Troopers responded to Mile 109.4 of the highway, just outside Trapper Creek, at about 5:30 p.m. Officials say a 2001 Kia sedan driven by Joseph E. Carroll, 31, was headed south on the highway when it left the roadway and rolled several times, ejecting Carroll. Other motorists stopped and attempted CPR, but Carroll died on the scene.
Carroll was the only person in the Kia and was not wearing his seat belt. Troopers say alcohol and excessive speed may have been contributing factors in the crash.
Carroll's next of kin have been notified, and an investigation is continuing.
