ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Kyle Frazier belted a grand slam as the South Wolverines knocked out defending state champion Juneau, 8-3, in the quarterfinals of the ASAA baseball tournament in Palmer.  The Wolverines came into the state tournament on a three-game skid, but quickly righted the ship against the Crimson Bears, who have won four state title all-time.

South advances to face Lathrop in Friday's semifinals.  The Malemutes scored three early runs and held on to beat Kodiak, 4-2 in their quarterfinal matchup.

On the other side of the bracket, Dimond, which won a tiebreaker against South to claim the top seed out of the Cook Inlet Conference, took down Sitka, 2-1 to reach the semifinals.

The Lynx will meet 13 and 0 West Valley in the semis.  The Wolfpack kept their perfect season alive by downing Soldotna, 4-1.  The score was tied at one until West Valley broke the game open with three fifth inning runs.
