ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The next nine days are your chance to weigh in on Shell Oil plans for exploratory drilling in the Beaufort Sea.

The Interior Department's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement is taking public comment until July 15 on Shell’s revised exploration plan, which was submitted on July 5.

The revised exploration plan incorporates new safety and environmental standards created after the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Public comment can be provided on BOEMRE’s website. To view the comments that have been submitted, go to the same page and click on "Open Comment Documents" for a full listing.
