ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Sterling Highway was down to one lane Thursday near Homer after a truck hauling asphalt rolled and injured two people, according to Alaska State Troopers.
AST spokesperson Beth Ipsen says the crash happened at Mile 165.4 of the highway, between Anchor Point and Homer, at 10:02 a.m. The truck’s driver and passenger received non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Ipsen said shortly after noon Thursday that a tow truck was “close” to the scene but stuck in backed-up traffic, and that spilled asphalt still needed to be cleared from the highway.
