August 07, 2011|by Kevin Wells

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Patrick Wisdom and Stephen Branca each drove in two runs in a seven run second inning as the Peninsula Oilers claimed a 9-1 mercy rule victory over the Seattle Studs in Sunday's winners bracket game at the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas.

Boomer Collins also had a big night for Kenai, going 3 for 4 with two runs batted in.  Chris Mallory added two hits for the Oilers.

The victory marks the Oilers second by mercy rule in three tournament games.  They improve to 3 and 0 in the tournament, one of four undefeated teams left in the double elimination event.

The Oilers, who have won three NBC World Series titles, are off until Tuesday.
