Police Looking for Mountain View Shooter

August 26, 2011|By Ted Land | Channel 2 News

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Police are on the lookout for a shooter who opened fire in Mountain View Friday afternoon, injuring a man.

The victim, who was shot in the shoulder, fled the scene in a red sedan just after 3:00 p.m., but officers caught up with him a few blocks away along Commercial Dr. near the Mountain View Car Wash.

Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, though there were plenty of witnesses nearby and police say they don't think it'll be difficult to track down the shooter.

“At this point every indication is this was some kind of disturbance, a very focused act rather than just something random,” said Lt. Dave Parker, APD spokesperson.
